July 2017

We took a vacation to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole before we headed to Grandpa's Hideaway on the 4th of July.

We stopped in Twin Falls for dinner.  I wanted to eat at Perkins because my Grandma Liz loved to eat there.

Idaho Falls!

We stayed at a house in Rexburg, Idaho.  We were getting ready to leave for the day and realized we all had on Snowbird gear.

Old Faithful.  We got huckleberry ice cream at the lodge.  So delicious!

Grand Prismatic Spring

Shopping in West Yellowstone.

We celebrated the big kids 13th birthday in Rexburg!  They each 100 $1 bills.

We drove through Rexburg.  It has gotten SO much bigger than when I went to college!  Picture time at the Rexburg Temple.

Driving through the Tetons on our way to Jackson Hole.

Jackson Hole

We introduced the kids to lemon drops on this trip!

The kids took a carriage ride!

We went to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and rode the coaster.

We ended the night eating dinner at the Bar J Wranglers chuck wagon show.  The big kids got a shout out during dinner for their birthday.

Tim took the priests to a hike in Star Valley, WY a few weeks before our family vacation.  Tim wanted the kids to do the "polar bear plunge" into the river.  Abby and I didn't want to get wet, so we filmed the adventure.

The river was a lot fuller from when Tim and the scouts went.  The current swept the kids off their feet and they started to float downstream.  They were swimming against the current.  I started to hit freak out mode.

Just then, two hikers came by and yelled at them to swim to the edge of the river and not against it.  They had to climb up a steep bank, but they made it up safely.  Their legs and arms were bright red from the freezing cold water.

They were very shaken up from the experience.  Tim kept saying that he had everything under control, but the kids were terrified.  We went back to the hotel and sat in the hot tub to warm up.

We drove through Bear Lake and got raspberry shakes at Le Beauxs!  We finally made it to Lewiston!  I ran the 10k with a few Barlow cousins.
Then off to the parade.

We spent most of the day at the pond at Grandpa's Hideaway.

The big girls found some treasures at DI.  Georgia was grossed out that we were buying used clothes.

Dan and Dalia rode through town!  Dan rode his bike from San Jose, up and over Lake Tahoe and all the way to American Fork.  Dalia drove the Rig.  They spent the night with us and headed off the next morning to Denver.

Constantly working on puzzles.

Annie always making cookies.

Shae and Scout joined us at the movies at the Water Gardens.

Reenacting the Sing movie while washing the car.

Georgia is really good at leaving me love notes.

I took Lori Rasband up to the Julie Andrews meadow.

We had a Beehive activity at our house.  We did lots of tracing, cutting, sewing and ironing for Days for Girls.  Our AC went out the day before and our house was SO hot.

One of Tim's coworkers gave us a very large bag of beautiful peaches.

Standard TV watching position for Georgia.

Cul de Sac of Fire on Pioneer Day, July 24.  We had lots of ice cream sandwiches!

I took the kids up to Lake Mary.  We started at the Brighton Ski lodge.  It was a very rare cool day in the mountains.  We ended up needed jackets.  Near the end of the hike, it started to pour rain.  The wildflowers were gorgeous.

Wheeler Farm.  We were way to old for the afternoon activity.  The kids were good sports.

Vital Smarts annual Lagoon day.  It was HOT!

The Whites came in town to visit.
