We are having a typical spring here in Utah. Beautiful 60 degree weather, followed by a snow storm, then rain, then 60 degrees. We'll take those few sunny days and spend every minute outside!
We recently had an out of town friend visit us last week. AND it happened to be a warm day and headed up the canyon. I NEVER thought I would hear my kids say, "I want to keep hiking". That phrase sure makes a set of parents grin!
We ended our hike up Rock Canyon by stopping at the BYU Creamery for ice cream. Yum!

March Madness
1. I was called into the Young Women's presidency recently. I am the counselor over 18 Beehives (12-13 year old young women). As challenging as this calling is, I'm grateful for the interaction with this emotional age group. It won't be too long before I have two of my own in the class. And my schedule just got busier.
2. Somebody FINALLY let me cut her hair. So much better for all parties involved doing hair every morning.
3. All the big kids had their own special ski day with Dad or Mom. (Annie and I skied Brighton in the blizzard). Abby and Tim skied at Sundance and loved riding through the "Outlaw Trail".
Carter and Tim headed up to Brighton with a another dad/son. They skied until the resort closed.

While the boys were gone, we got frozen yogurt. Mmmmmm......
4. I think these pictures speak for themselves.
5. Abby really wanted a pair of "cool" new shoes. BUT, she already has shoes (I guess they aren't cool???). So I got her the shoes, but she had to earn them. I even made her sign the list of jobs - if she didn't do the jobs, the shoes were taken away. She finished every job and didn't complain once. I was proud of that girl!
6. I have THREE third graders who know all their multiplication tables. These flashcards have been used every single day since September. Yeah for US!

Old School
We have some fantastic neighbors who let us borrow their outside toys. Their toys are 10-15 years old and my kids are fascinated by them.
The latest toy that has caught is our fancy is roller blades. Every afternoon, I have a few girls walked a few houses down the street and as if they can borrow their roller blades. OLD SCHOOL roller blades. And my girls are getting pretty darn good with them.

Busy-ness
We've had a few things happening this past week:
We had our cousins stay with us for a few days while their dad and mom went on a trip.
| Abby and L. peaking through the Mcdonald's play structure |
| Matching outfits for church (ooooo...I am the dork that still sews matching outfits for everyone.....dork!!!) |
Georgia had a field trip to the retirement home. They sang Valentine songs and brought treats. Though she had fun, I think she was a bit disturbed by the "old folks".
Carter received his Wolf Advancement in Cub Scouts in only 6 months. Way to go Mom...I mean Carter.
Though we have been living in the frozen tundra this winter, we had one day that the sun shined and the temperatures were mild. Peachy and I headed to the park and she let out a BIG "yee-haw" to be playing outside!
