Final Race

Today was the last day of running (sniffle...sniffle)!  And to celebrate, they had a one mile and a two mile race.  Abby ran the one mile and Annie and Carter ran the two mile race.  The weather was overcast and cool.
Abby signing in at the race

Pre-race jitters!

The starting line of the one mile

And their off.....

I love that when Abby runs, she is ALL smiles!  That girl loves to have F.U.N.!

Abby is about half-way through the race....still smiling!

Start of the 2 mile race....those boys are ready to race!

Carter at the halfway point!

Annie is fast on Carter's heels.  That girl has beautiful form!

Trying to catch her little brother!

Carter on the home stretch.  I guess he crashed hard somewhere on the course.  Another mom told him to get up and finish.  I was semi-glad that I wasn't there.  Sometimes it is too easy to "crutch" on mom and after our Steel Days mishap, I was just happy to be the cheerleader!

Annie on the home stretch.  She heard us cheering and really turned it up a notch.  She told me after the race that she really wanted to beat that pink-shorts girl!

Here she comes...gaining on the pink shorts girl....Mom cheering so loud as she is so excited for her girl!

Perfect form...booking it to the finish...Mom about to cry she is so proud!

A great morning for all!

Farm Fresh

I feel like every summer I make at least one (usually more) post about our garden.  I love my plot of dirt (actually, I have 2 plots of dirt this year).  I love eating my fruits and vegetables.  I love the corn wagons on the side of the rode with the hand painted signs.

Peachy swiping raspberries
Shelling peas in the garage

"Peter Rabbit" swiping my strawberries

As I was washing my strawberries, I looked out my kitchen window and saw these cute faces in the trees.

A.T.L.

A few weeks, Tim had to attended a conference in Atlanta, Ga.  I packed my bags so fast and made sure all my favorite restaurants were still there.  It has been 13 years (since our wedding reception) since I have been back.  Most of my close friends have moved to different places across the US, but I was SO excited to see my old stomping grounds!

Mellow Mushroom...mmmmm such good pizza

4th of F.U.N.

We headed up north to Logan to celebrate Independence Day.  As we were pulling out of American Fork, we saw this massive fire spreading across the mountains.

We stayed in Logan on Tuesday night (watched some awesome fireworks), then headed up to the Lewiston parade.  Wowzer....what a parade!  That small town knows how to do it right!!  We got front row line up at Uncle Rob's house!
Collecting lots of candy

Complete with R.O.D.E.O. princess....yeehaaaaaa

Tractors too

We headed back to "Grandpa's Hideaway" and played with toys all day.
One heck of a slip and slide!

More 4-wheeling

Filling our bellies on the way home

It sure is nice to come home dirty and tired.  Hooray for a great 4th!

Running Club

When it comes to sports, I am definitely biased towards running.  It is a sport you can do young and old!  So when I heard about a kids running club, I jump at the chance to get my kids pounding the pavement (and hopefully plant a running seed in their hearts).

The club starts with lots of stretching.  Then a run - anywhere from 1/2 mile to 1 1/2 miles. They end with running games.  The coaches focus on having fun, running with the correct form, safety while running and not overdoing miles.

The big kids love going (some more than others).  They get to bring Gatoraide...such a treat!

On our way to running club

I love that this girl spent her birthday money on "cute" running clothes.  A girl after my own heart!

Staying hydrated!

We are going to be doing a local 5k/kids fun run in a few weeks.  Talk about an ideal Saturday morning....running with my family!

Too many parties

We had some major partying going on here last week!

First, Carter had a sports party.  Wowzer, those boys have some awesome skills!

Kickball

Staying hydrated

Volleyball

Pinata

Ice Cream with a million toppings

Sweet gifts!

Then a few hours later, we had a late night and a "Camp Rock 2" party!

We started the party with freeze dance.  I was too busy being DJ to take pictures, but those girls have some moves!  I also totally embarrassed my big girls by dancing to the game.  It was sweet!

Then we had chocolate cake and opened gifts.

Then we watched "Camp Rock 2".  Ohhhhh....so dreamy!  I was officially tired by the end of the day!

Eight is GREAT!

We had three beauties turn EIGHT on Monday!  Eight years ago at 12:15pm, 12:16pm and 12:17pm our lives changed forever!

We've gone from this:

To this (in a blink of an eye):

We started our day by running 2 miles as a family (the big kids and I) (running camp blog post to come soon).  Then we had a BIG breakfast and opened gifts!

Then we went to see the new Disney Pixar movie "Brave".  Super cute!!

Then we headed to various stores to spend our birthday gift cards.  Our kids LOVE gift cards....getting to pick out whatever they want is the BEST!!!

We had such a great day as a family!  Baptism plans are well underway!
