June Update

Our summer has been super fun thus far!  I finally got my act together and put together a "summer school" program.  The kids can earn points by doing pages in workbooks, writing in their journal, reading, doing a meaningful service, exercising, and playing nicely with each other.  They can cash in their points at the end of the month for various prizes.  Everyone has done really well with our new "summer school" and it has solved a lot of our boredom problems!

We have been doing a lot of hikes.  We usually eat breakfast burritos on the trail.

We've been enjoying a lot of salads and dinners that don't heat up the house!

Another hike to the "G" with a neighbor friend.

The big girls attended Activity Day Girls camp.  There were 13 girls that attended Camp Jeremiah Johnson.  I was one of the leaders.  The girls got to go on boats, shoot BB Guns and bows and arrows.

The favorite part of the afternoon was the sword fight.  The camp counselors played "battle music" and the girls fought each other with nerf swords.  It was super fun to watch them!

We also went to This Is The Place Park.  The park is a pioneer village that portrays Utah history.  All the workers are dressed in traditional pioneer clothing.  We come every year and the kids love it!

We didn't get to have our traditional Mother's Day picture on our porch due to rainy weather.  BUT, we did get a picture on Father's Day.

Tim's First Half Marathon!

I finally convinced Tim to run the American Fork Half Marathon with me...his very first half marathon!  He researched a training plan and followed it perfectly.  We were able to get a babysitter and do a few Saturday morning long runs together.

I decided to help pace Tim and forgo racing.  This was by far the most fun I've ever had during a race.  It flew by!  It is a local race and we knew a lot of people racing.

I'm so proud of him for running 13.1 miles and completing all the training!
